Dragonflies symbolize numerous unique traits, such as opportunity, transformation, and spontaneity.

A dragonfly’s life is short and full of twists and turns, ups and downs, pauses and bursts of energy, like a student’s journey to higher education.

Why Renee?

  • Studying and living abroad is a ginormous opportunity that only a lucky handful can experience. A student’s time in high school is short, and like the short life span of a dragonfly, if you are presented with a promising opportunity to explore — jump on it — it may not come again. Working together, I can help you expand your horizons in a pre-college summer program, exploratory-structured GAP projects, work experiences, community service, or volunteering. I guide students in finding different paths or paving new ones; the student chooses where to fly.

A dragonfly’s unique flying skills remind us to switch gears and change course when needed. Some students need to pause for self-reflection and a necessary break between high school before starting university. Others twist and turn after starting university upon recognizing their path no longer feels right. Still, some students dream of entering a specific career field but do not realize that the area they want to study has prerequisites that need to be fulfilled for eligibility. Together, we will explore the various paths to attain your goals.

Each student is unique, and I tailor and personalize their one-on-one sessions to their needs and criteria, encouraging flexibility and open-mindedness throughout the process. Dragonflies continuously adapt to their environment and embrace change as any student should to live and study in a new country and culture successfully.

The dragonfly can be found on every continent except Antarctica. I have advised students studying and living in England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, the United States, Japan, Costa Rica, and Australia. Where can I help you fly?

  • The students I guide are culturally aware and globally minded. They may or may not have attended the most internationally diverse high school, which is often one of the reasons they want to explore undergraduate options abroad.

My Students’ Happy Lists in Global University Admissions: 2020 to Present

Since 2019, I’ve had the joy of working independently with students after many wonderful years guiding teens as a former school based-counselor at an international high school in Costa Rica.
These days, I support students from all kinds of educational backgrounds—The International Baccalaureate Diploma aka IBD (and courses), the U.S. high school diploma curriculum including AP courses, the German Abitur, the Costa Rica National Bachillerato (el bachillerato nacional costarricense de educación media), British A-Levels, and more—as they navigate their unique paths to global university options.

My approach is personal, thoughtful, and student-centered, with plenty of communication and collaboration with families every step of the way.

I’m proud to share that my students have been admitted to the following global universities. ITALIC indicates more than one student admitted and BOLD indicates enrolled.
